Hoopo

Scaling IoT intelligence and transforming raw data into a bespoke SaaS ecosystem for global logistics.

Hoopo, an innovator in low-power IoT trackers for unpowered assets, had just closed their Series A. While their hardware was robust, their data delivery was hitting a ceiling. Customer data was being funneled through a generic PowerBI setup—it was slow, lacked customization, and couldn't scale with the ambitious growth targets of the company.

I was brought in as the first Product lead to bridge the gap between hardware capabilities and the professional-grade software experience their Tier-1 clients expected.

Strategic Execution & Leadership

1. From Discovery to Design Partnership

Initiating a high-touch discovery process, treating ZIM as a core design partner. Through weekly meetings and deep-dive requirement sessions, we didn't just ask what they wanted—we mapped their operational pains to define a product that made "unpowered assets" transparent and manageable.

2. Building the SaaS Foundation (0 to 1)

Leading the end-to-end definition and roadmap for Hoopo Fleet Management System: A custom SaaS platform built from scratch, designed for high-frequency tracking and logistics management.

3. Scaling the Product Org

Recognizing that my best legacy is a sustainable team, I managed the recruitment and onboarding of an in-house Product Managers. I transitioned from "hands-on execution" to "strategic guidance," mentoring the new hire while maintaining ownership of high-impact features and the long-term roadmap.

The Impact: Scaling the Market Footprint

The transition from a restrictive PowerBI environment to a high-performance SaaS platform was the catalyst for Hoopo’s rapid market expansion. By building a top-of-industry system from the ground up, we shifted the value proposition from simple asset tracking to holistic logistics intelligence. This "0 to 1" evolution did more than just satisfy our design partners; it served as the primary driver for securing a new tier of enterprise clients, including DCLI, Marguisa, and SMDG. The platform’s reliability and simple UX allowed the company to consistently convert high-stakes pilots into long-term, loyal customer relationships, solidifying Hoopo’s position as a leader in the unpowered asset tracking space.
